• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Welcome David :)
Join our exclusive chat-room on Discord, soon as you get the chance.
So, don't take too long eating biscuits and siping tea.
We use Discord channel during POP-UPS SUBMISSIONS too.
Which takes place nearly every Sunday, if we are not doing any other exclusive Litopia events and if Pete is not on vacation.
But @AgentPete to be fair is a pretty determined agent/fellow and very knowledgeable regarding the writing industry.
You've come to the right place and as you can tell we are a really friendly bunch.

Thanks, RainbowNerd & Alix. I've only watched two episodes of Pop-Up Submissions, but I'm already hooked.

and get submitting to @AgentPete :)
I know his current window for submissions are closing soon. He'll probs reopen submissions in a month or so time.
Until then you can write to your hearts content, and we will help each other best we can.
The Writing Room is a great place for that.
Don't worry we have all walked the plank, putting our work on here to be ripped to shreds.
Not by sharks, just fellow writers, so fear not :)
And what can I say, I like rainbows especially after its rained and I love Rainbow Nerd sweets, * GOBBLE, GOBBLE, smiling with a load of Rainbow Nerds in my mouth :D *

I sent him a ten page sample of a novel a few days ago. Not sure how many others are ahead of it in the queue, but I'm sure AgentPete will get round to reviewing it when he gets the chance. I still need to check out the writing room to see what goes on there.

Hi @David Weller and welcome. So do tell us a bit about your writing - what genres? publications? etc?

Hello, Kitty. My first completed novel has been quarantined in a sealed box in the attic for several years now. One day I might take it down and do something with it. Shredding it seems like a good idea, although incineration might also be a viable option.

My second completed novel is called Truthseeker. It is a light science fiction/coming of age story and is aimed at YA at the lower end of the age range. I've sent AgentPete the first ten pages to review on his Pop Up Submissions programme.

My current WIP is a historical time travel adventure set in 1648. The first draft is half written.

Another tale I work on from time to time is set in Victorian London. I turned Chapter One into a short story which you can view on wattpad if you dare. Type A NIGHT OUT IN WHITECHAPEL - davidweller06 - Wattpad into the Google search engine and you'll find it. WARNING. Adult humour and not politically correct by modern standards.
