Just call me Froste, or Richard, or RF – I’ll answer to any of them even though not a single one of them is my actual name.
I’m done with the latest draft of my debut novel, which my editor is scheduled to line edit this week. Then it’s off for feedback and critique. In the meantime, I’ve been working on the sequel (a novel in a separate genre), reading up on agent querying and researching how to self-publish so I can figure out which direction I want to go with any or all of these projects!

The novel I am having edited is Dystopian, the other I’m writing would perhaps be considered Dark Urban or Urban Fantasy (think Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Punisher), though my favorite books to read are mysteries, oddly enough.
Give me something with the strong dialogue of Lawrence Block’s books and I’m a happy guy, add a detective and a femme fatale and you’ve got me hooked.

I love Dashiell Hammett’s The Thin Man, both the book and the movie series that were made about Nick and Nora’s adventures. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Italo Calvino’s The Baron in the Trees, Stephen R. Donaldson’s Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, Elizabeth Peters, Bronte, Eliot, Solzhenitsyn, Butcher, Lemony Snicket, I guess I’m all over the place.

When I’m not working on my books, I’m a professional video game developer, avid cook, gamer, and quasi-competent cat wrangler.
 
Howdy, RF; a pleasure to meet you. I love the diverse, magpie nature of your reading - I bet it makes you a lively writer. Congrats on getting to the line-editing stage with your debut.

I'm pretty new here myself, so don't have much to add, except to say hello and welcome, and I'll look out for your stuff!

hi there, and congrats on all the progress you've made with your book! i'd say it's cool to meet another video game developer, but i've only ever made a couple tiny games for itch.io, so i'm not sure if i qualify to put that "another" in there!
nonetheless, it's still cool to meet you!)

Hello, @Brooke! I work on Call of Duty: WarZone, but all game development is game development regardless of scale. :)

I hope my varied reading tastes do make me a lively writer. I guess we'll see.
