Hello! I've just had a lovely review from Peter Cox about my children's book 'The Nose That Nobody Picked' (which was nominated for the James Reckitt Children's Book Award) during the live pop up submissions this Sunday (6th August) and he said I should approach publishers deirectly. He said there were about 5 publishers out there who would like it.
Here's the blurb:
'One day Christopher, a keen but unorthodox gardener, finds a living nose raised by slugs in his garden. In their hunt to find Little Big Nose a face they encounter Doctor Skinner, an eccentric plastic surgeon, who has connections with the nose's past and sinister intentions for its future.'
Anyone know who those publishers might be?

Off the top of my head, don't know but, is this a market match? Who who published Roald Dahl's children's books? Who publishes Horrible Histories? What about any of these?

A quick word about going directly to publishers - I wrote the book many years ago and approached both agents and publishers. An agent was ripe to bite but I told her about the publishers I'd been rejected from and she, reasoning she couldn't approach them, dropped me like a hot stone. It was horrible! I put the book in a drawer for a little long time. Makes me slightly scared to go straight to the publishers...

Exactly, that's the way to go about it. Also, I'd include Puffin, Egmont, Orchard (part of Hachette) Bloomsbury, Faber and Nosy Crow. They're all good publsihers.
