• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hello!

Jim here. I'm new to Litopia, love what I've seen so far.

Currently on a sabbatical from work, I have rediscovered my love of writing and crucially, I'm finally allowing myself to believe that what I write might actually have some value.

Right now I'm working on a YA novel about a boy in a coma, as well as a blog, and various other bits and pieces too.

Really looking forward to meeting and sharing here. Thanks!

So nice to meet everyone.

I don't know why my photo is sideways, I'm not trying to be deliberately eccentric. Honest!

So I cracked the ten thousand word barrier today on the YA novel, apparently young adult novels go from 55 to 80 thousand words. I have some way to go. I'm experiencing conflicting feelings - it's nice to have so much room to play in, and simultaneously it's daunting to have so much room to fill. One day at a time, anyway.
