• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

At Marc-Joan, Yes challenging is a good word! The cargo man had placed a call to London and gotten us special permission for the ferrets to fly as they were. He said he couldn't stand to see Rhiannon so upset. (I wanted to kiss the man!!) A few days later, after we'd arrived, Rhiannon drew him a picture of the ferrets playing happily in England and sent him a thank you note. We addressed it to world cargo and I sincerely hope he got it!

That's nice! Must have been a nervous time for all, but at least it all ended OK.

@Tara, thanks, and you're welcome. :-) @Frances, thanks for the warm welcome! I'm glad the ferret story amused. I think one can't really moved to another continent with two kids and that many pets and not have something funny to say for it! Glad also that you enjoyed the digital art. Its a definite passion of mine. @Meerkat, wow! Good words to hear, thank you! I'm very happy to have joined this colony it seems like a great place! Any recommendations for how to make the most of it hear? I'm looking forward to these houses that Alistair mentioned. Hope you all have a fantastic day.

@tabby3 thank you! @Marc Joan, yes it certainly was but we were lucky. We had friends, family and strangers that all pulled together to make it happen!

Hi James, you're welcome. :-) Interesting timing, yes, I think I heard about that doctoral paper in 2003, so you were definitely picking up on something I think only a few people were becoming aware of at the time. And thanks, yes I would like to share, just waiting to see how we can do that!
