• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi Everyone,

My name is Erica. I've written seven books and published five (three with Random House, one with St. Martin's, and one on my own). My blog, Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity, is where I offer sage advice to writers, as well as practical information, such as monthly writing contests (no entry fees), conferences, calls for submissions, agents seeking clients, publishers accepting manuscripts (no agent required), helpful sites for poets, genre writers, self-publishers, and a lot of other useful resources. The publishing world can be confusing (and frustrating), so my purpose is to make life a little easier for aspiring authors.
