• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Hello,

My name is Emma and I am a young adult writer (or trying to be!) I have recently finished my first full-length fantasy novel and am currently penning my next!

This is all wonderfully new and rather overwhelming - in the best kind of way.

I very much look forward to hearing all your stories and sharing mine.

Welcome to the Colony! You've found a fantastic place to talk with other writers and learn about the craft!

Hi Emma, welcome! No need to be overwhelmed. We're a nice friendly bunch and try to be helpful too. Hope you join in and find there's nothing scary about sharing thoughts on your writing journey.:)

Welcome to the crazy Colony. Perfect place for Fantasy, lots of that around here too ;)
