Great free images from British Library

HT to Sara Crowe for pointing out this brilliant resource for anyone wanting to illustrate/cover a self-published book or to add to a blog etc: an excellent collection of over a million old images from the British Library. (It's being hit heavily at the moment, so Flickr can be a bit up and down about serving it, but worth the patience.)

http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/archive/search is another good site, the National Gallery made a lot of images free to use. Just type in what you're looking for ie. 'dragon' and see what comes up.

They are public domain, so yes. It says 'All images on our Flickr Commons account are free to use and remix.'
