I said this once in a literary crowd where some old asshole was pontificating on how women cant really write. Not Lit ER a Cher.
I still think this is true. Pratchett fans say, "Be more Terry." I think writers need to remember be more human. Once the tropes or orcs and elves were not tropes. They were new.
For more human go back to the original sources. History, philosophy, geography. Pratchett did. This article is spot on. If Chat GPX ever starts gossiping about what goes on at Bing when the lights go out.... then it's time we ask it to join the the writers union.
