• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

US publisher Del Rey today issued a statement:
"We are aware of the ongoing discussion around author Cait Corrain. [her debut] CROWN OF STARLIGHT is no longer on our 2024 publishing schedule." [Weird itals are Del Rey's.]

It was not clear if this was a postponement or a cancellation.

US publishing news site Publishers Lunch expanded on this:
"Del Rey posted online that it has removed Cait Corrain’s debut CROWN OF STARLIGHT from next year’s publishing schedule, following a controversy in which Corrain created multiple Goodreads accounts to give other debut authors one-star reviews. Corrain’s book was set to be published on May 14.
"Corrain herself notes in a lengthy apology on Twitter that two of the writers she review bombed, Molly X. Chang and Danielle Jensen, were fellow Del Rey authors."

IMO, sounds like a clear call for book reviews site Goodreads to put its house in order. At least so 'review bombing' like this is no longer possible. This is not the first criticism of it I've seen.
