This is a great speech by the master of dialogue himself... Aaron Sorkin. I don't think he goes by the same philosophy as Mr. Towne. He's more on the other end of the spectrum. Lots of ways to do great dialogue.

Use silence. And decide what the characters are thinking and feeling in those silences.
