Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.
This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.
Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…
We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Yes, he totally masters the drama and comedy that is the human condition!I adore everything this man writes - he understands humans like no other.

Thanks, Carol! I loved Ove, and so probably it was only natural that a couple of his others (notably, Britt Marie was here) fell a little flat. But I also want to go back and read more. Let me know if you strike gold! What a delight! He has such a wonderful sense of humor--and of being human! I've read A Man Called Ove, and loved it. This reminds me to read more of his work. Thanks, Mel!![]()

Thanks! Will look for the new series. Could not watch the Otto adaptation as it felt cringey to see it Amercanized.I have not read his books, but I did see, A man called Otto. Now I see there is a Netflix series based on a book called Anxious People.
Good to know. I'll look there. My favourite is My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises.
I have them all on audiobook, and the narrator is great.
