• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence
    • Don't take offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Poetry enough

The World Between the Words
A TikTok model adjusts straps,
Whimsical bag rests against smooth side
Sun struck, sun-loved.
I wonder how little she must eat
To look like that.

But I’m thin,
Eat more than society tells me I should
And still never enough.

Always consuming, never satisfied
Always scouring, never sanitized
Always dreaming, never actualized
Always running, never arrived

Each day I lather with gray
Foam peppered by debris
From we who receive more
And still never never never never never ever
Enough.

when earth squeezes us from her hair like too much water,
it will be enough.
