• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I went to two of these before Covid hit and found them very value for money. I dont know what the new incarnation would be because what I liked was the intimacy of the workshops. Twenty writers in the room with the guy who wrote Vikings or a fairly successful producer is different than 50 on a zoom call. So who knows what this year will bring. However I like this year's emphasis on editing.

Wow. Loved Dublin (with all that James Joyce vibe). Would love to go...
