• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.”

This was exactly my philosophy for teaching my dyslexic sons. I hated that schools required them to continue working at what their brains literally could not do before allowing them to do what they were good at. Strengthening what they could do chipped away at what they couldnt. So now though reading, spelling and cursive writing are still difficult for them learning isn't. I hate to see children who've had the love of learning stripped from them. Every child learns. Too often it is that books and school make them feel stupid.
