• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Stumbled across this wonderful piece on using verbs to carry dialogue: Verbs for Carrying Dialogue: ‘Said’ Versus the Rest
For the story (because there's always a story, n'est-ce pas?), I was so taken with this advice I decided to 'follow' the author's blog only to discover that he had died in 2019. His story, captured on the home page, is inspiring. Like so many creative spirits, seems he suffered from anxiety and depression. Sharing here for what it's worth because it seems important not to forget a fellow writer who had so much to say.
