I’ve raced through my stack of books and need some recommendations! My preferred genre is novels: recent favorites that I highly recommend are Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, Sing Unburied Sing by Jesmyn Ward, and Spill Simmer Falter Wither by Sara Baume. All three of these use language beautifully and create rich and detailed natural landscapes, as well as feature characters who view the world slightly differently from most but are still relatable.
 
I'm a voracious reader devouring about 350 books a year, 300 of which are novels. You'll find my favourites in a couple of old threads:

I've previously mentioned my favourite novel of this year a few times, and I think you'd enjoy Amanda Coplin's The Orchardist. I'm currently enjoying Michelle Paver's Wakenhyrst, which has one of the most atmospheric openings I've read, laden with dread.
