• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

If you haven't done so already, then why not take some time this weekend to enter November's Flash Club competition.

Simply pop over here, use @Barbara's prompt and write your piece taking care not to exceed the allowed word count.

When you're there, why not make yourself a coffee and take twenty minutes to read the other entries and vote for those you like.

You can vote in two ways. Either use the blue thumbs-up "like" emoji for a piece you've enjoyed, and for one you've loved, then use heart eyes emoji. It's as simple as that.

The winner will be announced at the start of December when the votes are counted. In the event of a tie the greater number of 'loves' will seal the deal.

The most prolific voter of the month will also get an honourable mention when the results are posted.

Have fun and good luck!
