• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

From today's The Bookseller:
"New MeetCute Storyteller Prize to offer literary representation"

The prize is offered by the Kate Nash Literary Agency. First prizewinner is awarded £500.00, plus agent representation. Two runners-up will be offered one 1-hour one-to-one literary agent consultation.

"No ifs or buts," says agency head Kate Nash (according to Bookseller), referring to the representation. The award will be made based on submission of a 'first chapter of a romance,' which can be from a number of sub-genres.

Oh, and the payment of £12.00, something that is not mentioned by anyone in the story or shown on the MeetCute Storyteller entry form until almost the 'Submit' button at the end.

I am not questioning the need for a charge, or the size of it. If extra work has to be commissioned, it's probably fair enough. It is the apparent concealment I object to.
