Passenger service announcement:

After my total flub job on LAD trying to say, in front of real people, "Check out ian's eyeballs dot com--that's eyeballs with an 'i' like your iPhone-- that's right i-a-n-s iballs dot com, iansiballs.com" Pete gave me the evil 'I' and rightly so.

Therefore, in the name of keeping it simple, I've gone back to the original site name, and redesigned:

For more information please check out octopusmessiah.com!

ees better, no?

(The brilliant octo-images are from Roy Caldwell, an administrator tonmo.com, your source for all things cephalopod. More on both sites!)

Curse my imagination! I read it as 'Ian is balls', with no clue why. I'm not weird I swear

And Jason, above: Actually, you're both right!

I asked a management consultant friend what he thought of iansiballs.com before I registered. He took one look and said, "No way: people will either read it as 'ee-yanz-eh-balls' or 'ian's balls.'"

Which was the deciding factor for my original purchase of the domain.

On the ground though, the explanations were killing me...:)

Go to your profile page on the left. Find settings, signature button is second below that. Or just click your name top right on the screen, and signature option is second thing down.

As a sidenote: anyone know how to change my signature here?
I like it — damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

You can alter your signature, Marc and KTLN, because you are Founding Members. You have access to a customization signature, the search tool, and the elusive "file upload in conversations" tool.

Oh.......I feel silly....KTLN, do you feel silly?
But Mr Wynne is a big swinging thing in Litopia, surely he also has profile-altering super-powers, non?

Alas, I have no such powers in the colony-- but I'm chuffed to bits people think I do!
I'd ask Agent Pete but I've already thrown a list of 12 nonsenses his way and I wouldn't want to break his already creaking desk (on a Monday).

But I had a signature before, then removed it before all the Founding member thing happened?

So did people LOSE signatures who didn't yet become founding members?

Nope, I definitely read it this way, too.

So, I can't validate this now because im on my phone and it already doesn't show signatures, but I'm pretty sure I saw my signature on here just yesterday.

Is your signature your web address? If so, I can see it. Mine's my web and twitter handle.

My signature is indeed my web address only it's no longer-- peep the beginning of this thread, yo!
*Ahem*
I have communicated with Agent Pete and he assures me his next round of colony fiddling is on the near horizon.

Funny how we all see things slightly differently. When I saw iansiballs I immediately thought 'Ian's iBalls' as though it was some new X-rated Apple app...

I like it ... and Emurelda is right ... clicking on the link leads to a squarespace login page but if you type the link directly into an address bar it goes to the website...you might have pasted your admin login link....

Can you have the pictures of the octopi(?) fade into one another? Just wondering ... that would be cool.

Amber

'squarespace'?
squarespace is the website platform I used to put the site together. It *is* annoying how when you type in octopusmessiah.com the address bar comes up as some squarespace derivative. I've been wanting to see if I can change this for a while. Thank you for lighting the fire!

Thanks for the feedback-- as I mentioned to @Emurelda it comes up squarespace no matter what I post. Will see what I can do. As for the fading-- great idea, will see if it's possible! But first some fun with SEMANTICS! (cracks his marine bio knuckles)
The plural of octopus is octopuses. You can't mix Greek (octopus, plural octopodes) with Latin (of which many plurals are pi). Octopuses! Hooray!
