• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi Oli,

Nice to meet you.

There are a few writers of middle-grade fiction on Litopia, but I'm not one of them. Welcome anyway. I hope you're finding your way around. Any questions, just ask. One of us is bound to know.

Rachel :)

Hello all

I've just joined. Looking forward to learning from you all.

I have written my first children's (middle grade) fiction novel and am keen to get it published. Any help gratefully received.

Many thanks
Oli.

Welcome aboard @olicpopsi :) I have written a MG, but @Robinne Weiss has written in this space for years. If you want to traditionally publish, you should know, MG is really in a slump atm. My MG has just hit constant rejection (mind you, I've been querying US agents to get a feel for the market, and it's flat. I'll try Australian agents this month. They'll be back from holiday. If anyone likes the book, it'll be an Australian). Whatever you do, don't pay anyone to publish your book. Be careful of scammers. They take advantage of budding authors.

RK , Girl, Do NOT give up on that book. It's got legs. I let my renaissance horror slide and I think it would sell now-if I was ready.
