• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Pretty cool. It's out in the forest around half an hours walk from a lake. My girls and I walked the twisting path. Cool little spot and I appreciate the effort someone went to create and maintain a little piece of magic.

Inspiring. And doubly cool as I was just researching labyrinths as my next short story uses one as a theme. I immediately knew this was a 'classic' shape rather than some of the more modern ones.

I love puzzles of any sort. Labyrinths sit firmly in my world. In fact I see life itself as an abstract maze with many exits, which we end up going through depends on the turns we choose to make. :D ooh there I ago, it's never enough just to like something for me is it lol!

There's a peculiar labyrinth a quarter of a mile from where I live. It's located behind a tall hedgerow, right beside a busy road that leads to the airport and on to Newquay. Cars race along this two lane road at 60 mph+. I'd noticed the pattern of what looked like a swirly track on the map, assuming that it had been made by local BMX or trail bike riders. Then, when I was walking into town one day, I saw the heads of a horse and rider above the hedge. She was riding at a trot, and I realised that she was following the course of the labyrinth. It has 3' high banks to mark its course, and to allow better horse control I guess. Set in a safe place, it allows a lot of exercise to take place in a small area.
I don't know if you'll be able to see this, but here's the aerial view, courtesy of Google Maps : https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.4302812,-4.9592751,226m/data=!3m1!1e3
