• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

It's wonderful to see Litopia still up and running! I was a member quite a long time back and recently just became aware of Pop Up Submissions. I've been binging those for a few days now and wanted to pop in here to see if there are any old Topes hanging about. Looking forward to meeting new authors, readers, and friends as well!

Welcome back @Geoff N :) You might catch Jamie Mollart on Pop Ups; he used to visit Litopia back in the day. He's published a couple of books now. What do you write? You should try and make a Huddle :)

Hi RK! Jamie Mollart hey? I remember him! Great guy. I'll have to check out his books. Although writing horror is my favorite, I dabble in suspense, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, and a bit of fantasy. A combination of some, or all, I find keeps the process fresh.

Watch out for him :) He was on the 4th July Pop Ups...

Hi @Geoff N and welcome. Glad you found us again, and that you've already discovered Pop-Ups. I can understand why you binged. They can be addictive.

Do check out the writing groups/Workshops too, if you want to post anything for critique. And don't be shy about offering your own thoughts on other writers' work. Your opinions as a reader are as valid and important as anyone else's. As many members will testify, we learn a lot from critiquing others' work, too.

I'm one of the Guardians on Litopia. If you have any questions, please get in touch. I look forward to seeing you around the Colony! :)

I was a member ages (about 10 years) ago, too. Quite a regular user. Then wrote less, logged in less, and one day the site seemed to disappear. Gave up looking for it and re-discovered it a few weeks back, when starting to submit to agents.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Where’s that Peter Cox character? I’ve missed him!
Wow, Geoff! How great to have you back!

Litopia has, ahem, matured quite a lot since you were last around. Do come along to a Huddle.

:) p.
