Hello all!

I was wondering if anyone had any good podcast recommendations?

I like long-form conversations about things like...modern philosophy, the mind, health, cosmology, physics... I've been listening to Russell Brand's Under the Skin - I like the variety of guests, but I find him a bit hyper and he tends to bring all conversations back to the same thing, regardless of who he's talking to.

I would especially love any recommendations for Spanish podcasts - so hard to find good ones in Spanish! I've been listening to Se Regalan Dudas on Spotify, but pretty much exhausted all the ones I'm interested in.

Would love to know if anyone's come across anything good.

Gracias!

Ah, I have to say (a little shamefacedly) that I'm not a big listener to podcasts in either English or Spanish (too wedded to traditional radio). I'll be interested to find out about any good ones you find, though :)

Ooh, what Spanish radio stations do you listen to? Any good talk radio recommendations? I have an app with ALL of the radio stations in Spain on it, but there are thousands!

I'm trying to resurrect my Spanish from the dead after 10 years

Wow, how unspeakably cool are you? V impressed, as I can usually only manage hello and I’m sorry in other languages (is generally what I use most, to be fair).

For Non-Spanish podcasts I’d suggest The Moth. This hosts story-telling evenings, each story told live, without notes, and must be true. They are usually fascinating.

Thanks for the tip - I'll definitely check that out - sounds really interesting. You wouldn't be impressed if you heard me try to string a sentence together! :D

If I'm trying to find out what's happening in Spain and I want to give my Spanish listening skills a stronger work-out, I usually opt for RTE-1 (kind of equivalent to BBC Radio 4...certainly, at breakfast time). But mostly DH and I like to listen to music radio, with some speech thrown in. Ideally, an interesting and broad range of music (in the UK, BBC 6 Music is our go-to station). So, our favourite Spanish station is Radio 3. If we're in the mood and Radio 3 is playing noodley jazz or something, we switch over to Flamenca, which doesn't have much talking, but is a lot of fun if you quite like flamenco and its various forms (we do) :)

This is brilliant - thank you! (Do like a bit of Radio 4 in the mornings, so I'll definitely give RTE1 a go!)
