Though I haven't been outside since 20 October, and it was only to go to a hospital (non-emergency) there is a pond outside my sitting room window. How fortunate is that, and it's all going on out there. 'Nature red in tooth and claw'. A hungry heron paces, the sun due south, no chicks or ducklings this time of year, sparkling ice, too thick for it to get at the fish.
