Help! what to focus on in a first draft?

"how much of a story do i plot out before i write, and especially what do i plot out before i write?"

@Brooke Imagine you have written your story - write a synopsis for it, a tittle and a blurb.
The beauty of this system, i.e. writing the synopsis first, is that you can change it to your heart's delight as you plod through.
