• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

The Colony will be moving from its existing server in the next few weeks. We’ll be running on a new operating system with numerous other underlying software changes and improvements. The Colony will continue to look exactly as it does now – hopefully you won’t notice any changes at all when we finally make the jump.

Before then, we’ve got a test site running on the new server and I’d appreciate some assistance from a few kind folk here to give it a test run, noting any unusual behaviors or (hopefully not) crashes or breakages. You don’t need any tech expertise, but should be prepared to be rigorous in reporting any issues you come across.

The test site is not public, you’ll need special permission to access it.

If you’d like to help, please indicate below and I’ll get things moving.

Thanks!
