This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Useful Books for Writers

There is a marked leaning towards plotting, while not ignoring pantsing, and a useful section on three modes of writing: action (show not tell) summary (tell not show) and dialogue.

I used a plot coach for my last two novels - she helped a lot! I used to be a pantser, but can definitely see the value of plotting. If anyone is interested, Cathy Yardley has written a very useful book, Rock Your Plot: Rock Your Plot: A Simple System for Plotting Your Novel (Rock Your Writing Book 1) - Kindle edition by Cathy Yardley.
