• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

What did you do today?
Did you make someone laugh?
Did you make someone smile?
Did you make someone think,
“Hey, you’re right. This life is worthwhile.”
Or did you sit and stare
And sit
And sit
And think
Cruel God, why am I here?
Well, I'm not sorry to say
God doesn’t know either
But look, I’ve found a clue
The answer’s in nature
And like the abyss
It will look into you
It will open the spots that
Your God forgot
And you’ll find yourself
Where you’ve been all along
In the flowers of the earth
In the bird’s song
And when next you shout
“This life is worthwhile!”
You’ll mean it
And so will the stranger
You left with a smile
