• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

A succinct one, I think:

The other thing is to not beat yourself up when you've told. The brain uses shorthand when getting the story out. When doing a developmental edit just mark the scenes that need to be shown. You've "told" them just to get onto the next bit. Too often I think we feel guilty when caught out for certain things when it's just part of the process to have to correct these things. When agents say dont send anything in til you've written a 3rd draft. They MEAN a 3rd draft. Not a 3rd edit.
