Yes, and we must always be aware that our own cultural lens, and the lens of our own experiences, is subjective. We must stay open to the perspectives and perceptions of others. It makes the world a better place, and ourselves better able to write with open-mindedness and authenticity if we can understand that not everyone sees the world as we do.
