I am writing to let you know that we are now open for entries for another of our fiction awards, and to remind you of other opportunities across fiction, non-fiction and poetry, that will soon be closing. Thank you to those who have already sent in submissions for the latter.
The £10,000 Encore Award for the best second novel is now open for submissions. This year’s judges are Sian Cain, Nikita Lalwani and Paul Muldoon. Closing date – Friday 22 January 2021.
The £10,000 RSL Ondaatje Prize is awarded to a distinguished work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry, evoking the spirit of a place. This year's judges are Lola, Baroness Young of Hornsey (Chair), Helen Mort and Adam Rutherford. Closing date – Friday 4 December.
The £10,000 RSL Christopher Bland Prize encourages and celebrates older writers and is awarded to a debut novelist or popular non-fiction writer, first published at the age of 50 or over. This year's judges are Mary Beard (Chair), Monica Ali, Georgia Byng and Ben Hunte. Closing date – Wednesday 16 December.
As our team are currently working from home and understand that many publishing teams may be in the same situation, as well as wishing to avoid multiple handling of physical books, we are only taking entries of digital copies of books this year. The entry form is now also entirely digital – please follow the links above to submit online.
I have attached information on the eligibility guidelines for all three here. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
