• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

... We have commercial fiction from Ceri, science fiction from Michelle, hard science fiction from Kirsten, science fiction from Phil, romance-thriller from Baby, a diary from Tracie… and if we’re very lucky, there may be a singing horse or two…!

And may I just say - submissions are taken in the order they're received. I never "theme" a show. Neverthless... themes do seem to emerge (e.g. this week, SF). What's going on...?

Look forward to that! Singing horses? Hmmm. I've got a little flea story I've never shared here. And I don't think I ought. Flo The Flea. She has a handbag but she is a proper flea.

What's going on? You know. That thing again. I notice it with readings. I'll get a run of stuff, so particular in nature, it's as if I'm being set some kind of tutorial. This week, people wanting to talk about this kind of problem, next week that.
