• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an afterthought.
Eat the delicious food.
Walk in the sunshine.
Jump in the ocean.
Say the truth that you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure.
Be silly.
Be kind.
Be weird.
There’s no time for anything else.

And drink a chianti
I read in a newspaper recently – I did read the book but had forgotten – that in the novel, it's an Amarone, not Chianti. It was being cited as an example of the screenwriter(s) 'popularising' the original text, making it more 'accessible'. Chianti is certainly much cheaper.
