• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Kindle Countdown Price Reductions begin on my historic fantasy book bundle today for one week, as low as 99 cents if you act now! Free in Kindle Unlimited for Prime Members. This is realistic, period voiced writing set in 1911 Ireland with lots of excitement, family secrets, ancient discoveries and grasping evil, but no wizards or dragons. Jus' sayin'. These two books found their feet here on LItopia in 2009 and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who held my trembling hands. You know who you are. And with 3 minutes 24 seconds left in the sale, I've bought my copy! Luckily, we happened to be at a point where I could spare $0.99 on nonessentials!

I should warn all y'all -- its more than 424 pages in two books. It's also been out there since 2009, so a quick review isn't really necessary, but thank you all for your interest and wonderful support. One more warning... it's been compared favorably(?) to Hardy. Jus' sayin'.

It'll keep me busy for lots of mornings, where I have two minutes to read before it's time to run out the door!

More of a Laurel fan myself.

Damn, I missed it. I'll still buy both next week though, bundle or no, when I have some spare pennies :)

Ho, serfs, bring me a flagon of your best wine, and see to my trusty steed, the chain whereof which hath jumped from the fourth gear even though it be a trusty Shimano mechanism.
Actually, if you don't have wine, cake will do.
What was this thread about?

I think you'll find we didn't, we just began a congratulations derailment instead BRAVO! We're all messed up in the head haha!

Anyway... I have now bought it and shared that I bought it with the link on Facebook and Twitter. I can't promise exactly when I will be able to get round to reading it until life settles a little, but I will get reviews up on my website, Amazon and Goodreads once I have got to the end xx
