• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

As someone just pointed out on the Listopia seminar thread I've been on the site since October 2014 and haven't posted before!

So, Hi everyone!

In best 3rd person bio stylee:

Pete Sutton has a not so secret lair in the wilds of Fishponds, Bristol, UK and dreams up stories, many of which are about magpies. He's had stuff published, online and in book form, and currently has a pile of words that one day may possibly be a novel. You can find him all over social media or worrying about events he’s organised at the Bristol Festival of Literature. On Twitter he’s @suttope and his Bristol Book Blog is here: http://brsbkblog.blogspot.co.uk/ and his website here http://petewsutton.com/ . He's contributing editor of Far Horizons e-magazine which can be found here:https://farhorizonsmagazine.wordpress.com/

Hello Pete,
I joined this writers' colony only very recently and spent part of yesterday responding to some very cheering welcome messages. So here is mine to you. It is very nice to meet you. I wonder if your magpies behave in the way Australian magpies behave?

British Magpies are very different to Aussie one's, not aware of them dive bombing people, but who knows? ;)
