• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Here it is! The official thread for November 2025's LiNoWriMo! I've set up a Google spreadsheet that people can fill in with their progress (make sure it's the 2025 tab).

How it works:
1. Tell us a bit about the project you're going to focus on for November. (It can be any project, new or old)
2. Give us a word count goal you want to hit. (Going for the full 50k like the traditional NaNoWriMo? Or will you be happy to hit 20k like me? Or maybe you plan to edit or write a piece of flash fiction each day—the choice is yours!)
3. Keep us updated on Google Spreadsheet below.

Guess I better go first with this. I'm working on the end of my Rarkyn trilogy book 3. It's currently at 250k (yes I know 😱). I'm hoping to get 20k written or to finish the damn thing—whichever comes first.

I also have the audio of book 2 arriving in a week(ish), so I'm not sure how much proofing that will slow me down.

I'll be starting tomorrow (2nd Nov for me, 1st for everyone else) as I'll be out at Cirque Du Soleil tonight which is when I'd ordinarily be writing.

I've got two projects for Noevember, niether too difficult, but both have been avoided for the last six weeks. One, i have an idea for five very brief chapters (fewer than 300 words, bringing the thing to a 42,000 word total) to sprinkle into my MG thriller Dead/Line.
Two, I've got to rework the final quarter of of my MG fantasy project, which is sitting at 36,000, will probably end that or a bit more. I know what I want to do, just have to type it.

Couldnt open the spreadsheet either. So echo RK.
I will be rewriting One Magic Summer which is now about 72k and would like to get it up to a sleekly efficient 80k.
And Nikki I would love to hear more about how you are deciding on the final edit of your audiobook since I am looking at trying my own.
