This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

'When you read, not just fiction, but news, essays, and biography, even Facebook and Twitter posts, pay attention to your emotions. When something makes you angry, surprised, or frightened, try to figure out where those emotions came from....... Can you isolate what the author did to you — because it was personal!'

Extract From Article by Ransom Stephens asking the (horse and cart, chicken and egg?) question:

Does Literature Make You Empathetic?

I'd say, I feel what I feel. It targets, dredges or challenges the reader's innate empathy. I do know I'd look like a nutcase, were I to be filmed while writing. I might be sobbing into a tissue or sniggering quietly to myself, depending what 's going into the thing.
