• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

I’d always end up broken down on the highway. When I stood there trying to flag someone down, nobody stopped. But when I pushed my own car, other drivers would get out and push with me. If you want help, help yourself—people like to see that.

I dunno. Last time I had a breakdown on the Autobahn, I rolled onto the shoulder and called for a tow truck, then I got as far away from the road as possible, as so, so many of the motorists were driving Porsches, Lambos, Benza, Ferraris etc at upwards of 200 mph. Replacing my own flat, something I've done many times, seemed like suicide. I can't blame them, I had an Aston Martin up to 283 kph when I had the blowout.
