• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

I can absolutely believe it. I have a memory a bit peculiar to speculate upon, a visual impression. Then a memory of a face looking down at me, blotting out the light. I felt heat, must have been breath, and I had a moment of alarm. Then a voice, speaking sharply. I was in a Moses basket on the floor. Dog Sheba's was the face, my parents German Shepherd, and the voice was my mother's presumably I had cried out, and she was telling Sheba she was too close. Sheba was a retired police dog and a very good girl, though later she did bite a man on a bicycle whizzing past the open front door. Don't know if she ever had puppies. But my mother told me she liked to put her head right in the Moses basket, look at the new baby.
