• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Just wanted to share a great free resource I found online (no bugs downloading). It’s by a very nice chap called Daniel David Wallace (he said it was fine for me to put this up).

How to Write Better Sentences.

I found this fascinating to read and some of the extracts from famous writers are now some of my favourite quotes. It surprisingly useful on many levels of my writing, even though I have already waded through stacks on ‘how to write..’ books.

If you read it, I’m sure you’ll, like me, mutter under your breath: Well, we learn something new every day… Hope so!
