• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi everyone, it’s lovely to be back. I was a colony member several years ago and took a pause when life got busy. Forgot my login details, but I’m really glad to be back!

I’m currently based in the north of the UK. I’ve been working on my debut for the last few years, a fantasy-fiction novel that’s (hopefully) in its final phase of drafting before I’m ready to submit to an agent. It’s full of murder, magic and mayhem in a world influenced by India.

I’m quite eclectic in my literary taste, I read fiction and non-fiction, but fantasy will always be my first love. Some of my favourite authors include Tasha Suri, Tomi Adeyemi, Sabaa Tahir, Anthony Ryan, Jay Kristoff, Brandon Sanderson etc.

Looking forward to connecting with some likeminded writers! Don’t be shy to say hi.

So glad to see you on today's huddle. Wish I could have stayed for it all, but... grandchildren, an exchange student... anyway, love to meet you if only virtually and for a few minutes.

Sounds intriguing! If you include descriptions of meals worthy of Jacques with an Indian flare.... I cannot resist and I'll have to keep dal on the stove to get me through the book without becoming a platinum patron of my local Indian grill.
