• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

Glad to be a new member (or is it initiate?) of the group (or is it secret society?). I am a new author, having written a mystery thriller suspense novel with espionage, horror, and science fiction elements, which I am forced by conventions to call a thriller only. It has been submitted to Pop Up and I look forward to seeing it revered or reviled on the extremely entertaining show (I hope I get points for flattering the host). Although the novel is set in England, Europe and the Middle East, I am an American, living in Georgia, possessed of a wife, a dog (I got that in the right order) and two ungrateful children.

Hiya. Welcome to the colony (also not a cult, despite how spooky that sounds). Hope you enjoy your time with us. Xx
That's right, reel him in slowly. Yeah, not a cult. Not at all. Now, look into my eyes, not around my eyes...
Welcome. One of the first things we learn on here is that we learn more about our own writing by beta reading the works of others than in having our own work reviewed.

I hate to break it to you, @richbrad, but it's definitely more of a cult. Looking forward to chanting with you in the coming months.

A very warm and belated (apologies) welcome to the colony, @richbrad

Nice to have you here. Hope you enjoy Litopia and do get involved as soon as you’re ready to.

This is a good place to check out (How-to guide) to see a lot of what goes on in the colony.

If anything is unclear do please contact me and I’ll be happy to assist if I can.
