• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

After many months of rewrites and implementing notes, I think I'm ready to shop my debut cybercrime-thriller, The Flood.

I'm currently working on pitches and synopsis, just starting to query, including Litopia's pop-up submissions. Anyhoo, figured I'd join up while I was at it, and see what I can do to improve my marketing package.

I love action and crime and SF. Anything by Don Winslow. Also a fan of Adrian McKinty, Mick Herron, Steve Cavanagh, and S.A. Cosby. On the SF/spec-tech front, I like Blake Crouch, Daniel Suarez, and Andy Weir.

I'm interested in writing with an edge, often dark, gritty, and action packed.

About me: I'm an American, living in London. I’ve got some education (BA in English, Masters in Novel Writing, JD in Human Rights Law), some experience (editor and tech writer, small-town juvenile delinquent turned UN war-crimes attorney), and some skills (I suppose we'll see about this last bit). I've also got grit. I'm writing every day, committed to doing whatever it takes to succeed. Right now, this means selling The Flood.

Nice to meet you all.

Welcome aboard :) if you want to improve your marketing package, you've come to the right place.

Love him. Need to read more of him.

Fascinating.

Doubly fascinating.

Who are you working for? If you don't mind me asking. When we were on a working holiday, I worked for DLA, before they merged.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Was working for UN ICTY.

Belated welcome to Litopia @Monkhouse

If yiu need any help navigating your way around the colony just drop me a line and I’ll be happy to assist if I can

Hi @Monkhouse and welcome. I’m also new-ish to the colony, and also working on my marketing material. There’s a weekly huddle here that I’ve found to be fantastic. A great place to review your synopsis (or whatever you like up to 1000 words) if you’re looking for feedback. And Agent Pete has a brilliant seminar on writing synopsis. Great to have you here!
