• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

It will need to be you who does the initial reaching out. Get Googling, Peter. Local live music evenings can be very friendly events, someone can go on their own, sit with a drink and not feel they stick out like a sore thumb. There's a local neighbourhood thingie on-line called Streetlife. Bound to be some equivalent thing near you. These sites have useful info, and adverts, and conversations and groups, including things like Supper Clubs for men and women to meet up in a safe, very light, non pressured way.
