This letter was written, not for seeking agent representation or a publishing deal, yet in many ways it's not dissimilar to the vexatious problem we all know about only too well. :) It actually worked like a charm In 1934.

A New York copywriter by the name of Robert Pirosh quit his job and headed for Hollywood, determined to become screenwriter. He wrote this cover letter, got 3 interviews from it & eventually won the Academy Award and also had a second nomination two years later.
