• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

For anyone wishing to have a go at the short story form, the publisher Comma Press, which is something of a short-form specialist, is inviting contributions on the theme of La Nouvelle Espionnage. See here http://commapress.co.uk/resources/2015-new-writer-showcase-la-nouvelle/ for details. I have checked with them, and they say that it is fine for entries to have been critiqued in a members-only section of an online writers’ workshop, although “if selected for publication, we would probably ask you to remove it.” So, on the assumption that such removal would be possible (AgentPete?), perhaps the new spy story could be a theme for one of the Houses?
