• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

Hi all. I joined a few months ago but never posted in here. I finally got around to adding a picture, so it's about time I say hello and officially introduce myself.

I live in Pennsylvania and have been writing since high school. My day job is programming but I've always been a writer at heart. I write in the science fiction and fantasy genres and have self-published a trilogy for Kindle. After writing a few novels and failing to get traction in either the self-publishing or the traditional publishing world, I decided to start focusing on short stories instead. My goal is to publish a few of those first so that I have credentials to present to agents when querying my novels. I've gotten some traction in that direction but have yet to be paid for my efforts :)

I've posted one of my stories in the writing workshop for anyone who's curious. I always have writing in need of critique and am happy to reciprocate. If you are further curious, I have a website: https://www.matthewgoldsteinbooks.com/

It's been nice getting to know some of you in the Saturday huddles, and I hope to get to know more of you soon!
