• Café Life is the Colony's main hangout, watering hole and meeting point.

This is a place where you'll meet and make writing friends, and indulge in stratospherically-elevated wit or barometrically low humour.

Some Colonists pop in religiously every day before or after work. Others we see here less regularly, but all are equally welcome. Two important grounds rules…

    • Don't give offence

We now allow political discussion, but strongly suggest it takes place in the Steam Room, which is a private sub-forum within Café Life. It’s only accessible to Full Members.

I would say 50% head space (both physically and emotionally)
20% research
20% talent
10% not being distracted by the internet

I don't know why internet gets the blame for everything- to me it's the best thing since television and far more useful. If we want to be distracted we will be distracted internet or no internet.
I agree it makes research instant and therefore can make writing much easier. And true I can go down as many rabbit holes in a library distracted by books. The point I think is it is still a bullet that must be dodged to get work done.
