Bargain SF ebooks from academic publisher

The German academic publisher Springer has quite a large catalogue of science fiction books with a heavy science basis, written by scientists. I have always been heavily critical of their pricing, because they charge academic prices - about $22/£15 for a science fiction paperback. But they've a special offer on which gives you a remarkable 6 ebooks for $1 (about 76p) - and you can even choose to give most of it to charity.

Two things. Worth a look if you like this kind of book and read ebooks. And interested in your thoughts on this decidedly odd business model:
